Murder of a TCR serviceman in Lviv - customs officer charged with suspicion

The customs inspector inflicted fatal stab wounds to the serviceman's neck and chest. The suspect was detained after attempting to flee and faces severe punishment.

In Lviv, law enforcement officers have notified a customs inspector of suspicion in the murder of a serviceman during a document check by the TCR and police. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, according to UNN.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred on April 1, around 1:30 PM, on Paton Street. Military personnel from the territorial recruitment center, along with police officers, were checking documents near a store. A conflict arose during the conversation.
At that moment, the 28-year-old relative of the customs officer, as stated, began to flee, and the serviceman tried to stop him. According to the investigation, the customs inspector pulled out a knife, caught up with the serviceman, and inflicted several blows to his chest and neck.
"One of the blows damaged the carotid artery, which led to the victim's death," the prosecutor's office noted.
Despite medical assistance, the serviceman died on the way to the hospital.
After the attack, the suspect and his relative fled by car, but law enforcement officers quickly established his whereabouts and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The man has been notified of suspicion of intentional murder in connection with the victim's performance of official duties. The issue of choosing a pre-trial detention measure in the form of custody and suspension from office is being resolved.
