More than 4.4 million Ukrainians are under temporary protection in EU countries — Eurostat

As of the end of June, more than 4.4 million Ukrainians were under temporary protection in the EU, 24,000 more than in May. The largest numbers of such people are in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.
The number of beneficiaries of temporary protection in EU countries who left Ukraine as a result of russia's full-scale invasion exceeded 4.4 million people as of the end of June. This was reported by Eurostat, UNN writes.

It is noted that compared with the end of May, the total number of people from Ukraine under temporary protection in the EU increased by 24,380 (+0.6%) and amounted to 4,407,675.
Among EU countries, Germany (1,286,230 people; 29.2% of the total), Poland (961,170; 21.8%), and the Czech Republic (390,810; 8.9%) received the largest numbers of beneficiaries of temporary protection from Ukraine.
Compared with the end of May, the number of people under temporary protection increased in 24 of the 27 EU countries. The largest absolute increases were observed in Italy (+4,115; +8.8%), the Czech Republic (+3,835; +1%), and Germany (+2,960; +0.2%). The three countries where decreases were recorded were Poland (-6,335; -0.7%), Belgium (-35; -0.04%), and Ireland (-15; -0.01%).
As of June 30, more than 98.5% of beneficiaries of temporary protection in the EU were Ukrainian citizens. Adult women accounted for 43.4% of the total, adult men for 27%, and minors for nearly a third (29.6%) of the total.
