Montenegro will introduce a visa regime for citizens of Russia, Belarus, China, Saudi Arabia and Turkey from November 1. The country's government made the corresponding decision as part of harmonizing its visa policy with EU rules. This was reported by the government of Montenegro, writes UNN.

This step was taken as part of Montenegro's full alignment of its visa policy with the visa policy of the European Union. Thus, Podgorica fulfilled one of the final conditions for closing negotiation chapter 24 – "Justice, Freedom and Security".

It says, in particular, that on July 23, the government of Montenegro adopted amendments, according to which citizens of countries that caused discrepancies between the visa regimes of Montenegro and the EU (Belarus, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Turkey) will need a visa to enter Montenegro from November 1, 2026.

The government added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is intensively taking measures to mitigate possible negative consequences of these changes, so that the process of obtaining a Montenegrin visa is as simple and accessible as possible.
