In Bahrain, air raid sirens were activated for the second time today amid the threat. Tensions also rose in Jordan, where the U.S. Embassy urged American citizens to seek shelter immediately following reports of missiles and drones in the country's airspace.
Resumption of hostilities in the region
Iranian state media claims that the IRGC attacked the U.S. Al-Azraq base in Jordan and "destroyed facilities and a large number of fighter jets." However, no evidence of this has been released.
According to the IRGC statement, 12 ballistic missiles were fired during the attack at bases housing U.S. F-35, F-15, and F-16 fighter jets. It was not specified whether all missiles were directed specifically at targets in Jordan.
Earlier, the U.S. military reported that a previous attack on the Al-Azraq base did not cause significant damage. According to the U.S., almost all missiles and drones were intercepted or failed to reach their targets, and there were no casualties among American personnel.
