Two officials of the food service of the logistics department of the border guard detachment in Kherson region are suspected of purchasing food for the military at inflated prices.
Two heads of the food service of the logistics department of the border guard detachment in Kherson region, who purchased food for the military at inflated prices, have been served with a notice of suspicion. UNN reports this with reference to the State Bureau of Investigation.

According to the SBI, the head of the unit's food service concluded a contract for the purchase of cereals for the military unit for more than UAH 360 thousand. The agreement was approved at an inflated price and without relevant documents confirming the quality of the goods.
His predecessor in this position signed a contract for the purchase of bread for a military unit for UAH 1.3 million. Despite the monitoring, he gave preference to the entrepreneur who offered an inflated price.
According to the SBI, the cost of a kilogram of bread supplied by a private entrepreneur under the contract exceeded the average market price by UAH 8. As a result, the military unit suffered losses of more than UAH 402 thousand.
One of the heads of the logistics food service is suspected of knowingly entering false information into official documents (part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the other is suspected of abuse of office to obtain an unlawful benefit for another individual (part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the articles provides for imprisonment for up to 3 years.
The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officers are establishing the detailed circumstances under which the overpriced procurement of food for the military was allowed.
