Japan is considering sending government officials to Russia as early as late May to maintain contacts with Moscow and assist Japanese companies that continue to operate in the Russian Federation. This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to a statement by the Japanese Ministry of Trade on X, according to UNN.

The ministry noted that a trip by a government delegation to Russia is currently being planned, and under certain conditions, business representatives may also join it.

"It is necessary to protect the assets of Japanese companies remaining in Russia,"

the ministry stated.

They added that the Japanese government maintains contact with the Russian side at the state level to support these efforts.
