Iran reported that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a conversation with his Bulgarian counterpart Velislava Petrova, during which he criticized reports that Sofia had approved the use of the Bezmer airbase by the United States for military purposes. This was reported by Al Jazeera, writes UNN.

According to the Iranian government, published on social media X, Araghchi called on Bulgaria to reconsider this decision. At the same time, according to him, the head of the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry stated that the country "will not take part in the conflict" and supports diplomacy and de-escalation.

The report of this conversation came amid Iran continuing to warn other states against facilitating US military operations in light of its attacks on American facilities in the Middle East.
