In the first half of 2026, UAH 218.4 billion was allocated to social expenditures - Ministry of Finance

These funds were directed, in particular, to pensions and social payments for a number of categories of the population.

In the first half of 2026, social expenditures of the Ministry of Social Policy were financed. In January-June, 218.4 billion hryvnias were allocated for this purpose, reports UNN citing the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
Details
As noted by the department, the funds were directed to the following areas:
- 123.9 billion hryvnias - financial support for the payment of pensions, allowances and increases to pensions assigned under the pension programs of the Pension Fund;
- 47.2 billion hryvnias - social protection of citizens who
have found themselves in difficult life circumstances;
- 23.4 billion hryvnias - provision of benefits and housing
subsidies to citizens;
- 19.4 billion hryvnias - social protection of children and
families;
- 4.5 billion hryvnias - social protection of persons with disabilities.
As noted by First Deputy Minister of Finance Roman Yermolychev, social support cannot depend on the complexity of the budget year, especially when it comes to pensioners, children, people with disabilities, internally displaced persons, and other vulnerable categories of the population.
