Police detained a 40-year-old man in the Nowy Sącz area (Lesser Poland Voivodeship) for his social media posts. According to investigators, he publicly called for the murder of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This is reported by RMF24, writes UNN.

The detention took place on Thursday, July 30. A spokesperson for the Lesser Poland Voivodeship Police stated that law enforcement gathered evidence regarding the activities of the 40-year-old man on social media.

On this basis, the man was charged with publicly inciting the crime of murder and insulting the President of Ukraine.

According to the police, the 40-year-old man expressed remorse during interrogation. The man explained to the officers that he acted under the influence of emotions and regrets what he did.

For the acts he is charged with, he faces a penalty of up to three years in prison.
