In the Lviv region, the liquidation of a fire at a former landfill in Pustomyty covering an area of 750 square meters is ongoing. Also, 7 fires in ecosystems covering an area of over 113 thousand square meters have been recorded in the region.

On the territory of the former landfill in Pustomyty, Lviv region, firefighting continues over an area of 750 square meters, reports UNN with reference to the State Emergency Service.

As reported by the State Emergency Service, the complexity of extinguishing is due to smoldering waste at a depth of several meters. Rescuers are dousing individual hotspots and dismantling debris to prevent re-ignition.
At the same time, 7 fires in ecosystems have been recorded in the Lviv region, with a total area exceeding 113 thousand square meters. Dry grass and peatlands are burning in three districts - Lviv, Chervonohrad, and Yavoriv.
In total, over 160 rescuers and 33 units of State Emergency Service equipment are involved in extinguishing fires in the region.

The State Emergency Service also reminded that burning dry vegetation entails administrative liability - fines for citizens range from 3,060 to 6,120 hryvnias, for officials - up to 30,600 hryvnias. In areas of the nature reserve fund, the fine can reach 12,240 hryvnias.
