As reported by the Prosecutor General's Office, the woman's godmother turned to the police with a missing person report after being unable to contact her friend for a long time. Upon arriving at the house where the woman lived with her parents and her 3-year-old child, the applicant saw the young child without the mother. The parents' explanations regarding their daughter's whereabouts raised suspicion, after which she reported it to law enforcement.
The investigation established that on the night of December 31, 2025, a conflict arose between a 50-year-old man and his daughter while they were consuming alcohol together. According to the investigation's version, he mortally wounded her with a hunting rifle and threatened his wife with violence if she told anyone about it.
The man buried the victim's body in a shed on the property. During the search, law enforcement officers discovered the woman's body with signs of a violent death and the likely murder weapon — an unregistered rifle.
The man has been detained and notified of suspicion of intentional homicide (Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court has ordered a preventive measure — detention without the right to post bail
The victim's young child has been removed from the family. Currently, the child is in safe conditions.
