Upon arrival, Trump told the other leaders: "I am the boss."
Newsweek notes that Trump was late for the meeting before making the remark.
Arriving at the meeting in Evian, Trump also reportedly joked to the photographers who were briefly allowed into the room: "Would you like to stay for the meeting? I don't mind." The press representatives were later escorted out of the room.
This comes as G7 leaders expressed support for Trump's peace deal with Iran, which involves unblocking the critical Strait of Hormuz.
In a joint statement, the leaders praised Trump's "strong leadership" in securing the "breakthrough."
They added that the deal, which is to be unveiled at a signing ceremony on Friday, is a "historic opportunity to prevent Iran from acquiring any nuclear weapons."
