At Germany’s Hannover Airport, air traffic was temporarily suspended during the night of August 11 after a drone was spotted. The runways and airspace were closed several times for more than two hours. This was reported by the German outlet NDR, according to UNN.

Details

According to the outlet, Hannover Airport experienced several brief closures between 3:44 and 5:20 a.m. Both runways were closed for a period of time. The situation also delayed six passenger departures, while one cargo aircraft was diverted. Regarding the cause of the situation, the outlet cites an internal police report.

According to the report, "the presence of hybrid activity cannot be ruled out" concerning critical infrastructure.  However, the document states that it is unclear whether there is a connection with the drone incident in Leipzig. Inquiries from NDR regarding the incident and the drone have gone unanswered by both the Federal Police and the Hannover Police Department.
