Girona signs Ukraine U-21 forward Oleksandr Pyshchur

Spanish club Girona has signed a contract with forward Oleksandr Pyshchur until 2031. The 2.04-meter-tall striker joins from the Hungarian club Győr.

Spanish side Girona, which features Vladyslav Krapyvtsov, Vladyslav Vanat, and Viktor Tsygankov, has signed a contract with Ukraine U-21 national team forward Oleksandr Pyshchur. The player's contract runs until the end of June 2031. This was reported by the club's press service, according to UNN.
Girona has reached an agreement to sign Oleksandr Pyshchur, who will become a new player for the "Blanquivermells." The 21-year-old center-forward, standing 2.04 meters tall, has signed a contract for five seasons, until June 30, 2031,
The club noted that Pyshchur, who plays for the youth national team of Ukraine, became one of the revelations of the U-20 World Cup held in Chile, where he drew attention as one of the tallest players in the tournament and due to his effectiveness in attack.
In his first match of the tournament against South Korea, he scored a goal with a powerful header. At Girona, he will play on the same team as Vladyslav Krapyvtsov, with whom he also plays for the Ukraine U-21 youth national team,
The club also emphasized that the forward is of "large stature, strong in aerial duels, capable of holding off defenders and creating chances in the penalty area."

21-year-old Oleksandr Pyshchur is a product of Chernihiv's Desna. He began his professional career at MFA Mukachevo.
Since 2022, he has played for a number of Hungarian clubs, including Puskás Akadémia II, Gyirmót, and Győr.
In the 2025/2026 season for Győr, he played 36 matches in all competitions, scoring 5 goals and providing 2 assists.
Pyshchur is also the son of Ukrainian striker Oleksandr Pyshchur, known for his performances for Volyn Lutsk.
It should be noted that in addition to the aforementioned Vladyslav Krapyvtsov, forward Vladyslav Vanat and winger Viktor Tsygankov currently play for Girona.
However, after Girona was relegated to the Segunda (Spain's second division) this season, the future careers of Vanat and Tsygankov remain open.
In particular, Vanat is being linked to top La Liga clubs, as well as Turkish side Trabzonspor, which features Arseniy Batagov and Ruslan Malinovskyi, and until recently, Oleksandr Zubkov.
Furthermore, according to media reports, Viktor Tsygankov has informed Girona's management that he does not wish to continue playing for the club, although the Ukrainian's contract runs until the end of June 2027.
Trabzonspor is also interested in Tsygankov.
