The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed a strike on the Saki airfield in the temporarily occupied Crimea at night, UNN reports.
Last night, units of the Missile Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, struck the Saki airfield in the temporarily occupied Crimea as part of a unified plan. This is one of the operational airfields used by Russia to control the airspace, in particular the Black Sea, and to launch air strikes on Ukrainian territory. Information on the consequences of the strike is being clarified
The General Staff noted that the airfield was covered by "modern" Russian air defense systems, which once again failed to protect an important Russian military facility.
"The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to destroy the military infrastructure of the Russian invaders. (....) The joint combat work of all components of the Defense Forces against important targets of the Russian armed forces will continue," the General Staff said.
