The President of Ukraine reported that one of the key issues in the negotiations with G7 leaders was the strengthening of sanctions against the Russian Federation.
G7 leaders agree that Russia is not winning. We also discussed additional sanctions against Russia, particularly regarding its shadow fleet
According to him, the summit participants paid special attention to economic tools of pressure on the Kremlin and opportunities for further restricting the sources of funding for the Russian war.
The President also drew attention to the downward trend in global oil prices, which, in his opinion, negatively affects Russia's revenues.
We see that oil prices are falling. And this is good, because Russia will not receive additional profits
In addition to the oil sector, the issue of further sanction pressure on the Russian banking system and enterprises of the military-industrial complex was raised during the discussions.
Zelenskyy did not specify details of possible new restrictions, but emphasized that Ukraine's partners continue to seek mechanisms to increase economic and financial pressure on Russia in order to limit its ability to continue the war.
