MFA calls the linking of Zelenskyy's foreign route to tensions with Poland artificial

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhii Tykhyi, commented on assumptions regarding a connection between the route of the President of Ukraine's foreign trips and the escalation in Polish-Ukrainian relations. According to him, the logistics of the head of state have no political basis. He stated this during a briefing, reports UNN.

During a conversation with the media, Heorhii Tykhyi was asked about the fact that the President of Ukraine, arriving for a visit to the United Kingdom, used the Chisinau airport. Previously, Volodymyr Zelenskyy used the Polish airport in Rzeszów for foreign visits. This question was raised against the backdrop of heightened tension in Polish-Ukrainian relations due to the naming of one of the Special Operations Forces units after the "Heroes of the UPA."

"I have seen this connection. It seems to me that it is artificial. The President's logistics are decided separately by his protocol service. Let's not politicize the issue of logistics and especially not draw special attention to it for security reasons. It's not worth it, to be honest. The political dimension is absent here, and there is no need to look for it here,"

– Tykhyi said.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on the change in the flight route of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, when the Ukrainian President used a Moldovan airport instead of the Polish hub in Rzeszów for the first time in a long while. During a press conference, Tusk stated that he would not dictate from where or how Zelenskyy should fly, adding that the Rzeszów airport was not closed.
