A Red Data Book moose calf that lost its mother was rescued from the burning Chernobyl forest and handed over to ecologists by rescuers, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported on Friday, UNN writes.

Emergency workers rescued a Red Data Book moose calf from the scorched earth of the Chernobyl forest. The defenseless, frightened animal, which had lost its mother in the fire, was found by firefighters during the liquidation of the blaze, who then carried out a real special rescue operation,

According to the State Emergency Service, the moose calf was given water, surrounded with care, and, after consulting with forestry representatives, zoologists, and veterinarians, it was decided to hand it over to specialists.
