Radiation levels are normal amid a large-scale fire in the Chernobyl exclusion zone, the cleanup of which is ongoing, Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on Friday, UNN writes.
As of 11:00 AM on May 8, the radiation situation on the territory of Ukraine (specifically in the north of the Kyiv region) remains stable. According to data received from the National Hydrometeorological Service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, gamma radiation levels are within normal limits throughout the country
In the event of "the appearance of contradictory information in the public space," the Ministry of Internal Affairs urged people to "rely exclusively on official sources."
"The containment of the large-scale fire in the Chernobyl exclusion zone continues," the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.
