Fire Point is capable of producing ballistic missiles – Zelenskyy
Kyiv • UNN
The Fire Point company is preparing to release FP-7 and FP-9 ballistic missiles. Ukraine and Germany have signed an agreement on the joint development of defense technologies.

The Ukrainian company Fire Point is nearing the production of ballistic missiles. Against this backdrop, the defense ministers of Ukraine and Germany signed an agreement to combine technological capabilities. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the opening of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in the "Ramstein" format, UNN reports.
According to the head of state, Ukraine and Germany have their own technological developments that can be combined to create new defense solutions.
"Germany has certain technologies. Today, our defense ministers have already signed an agreement to combine these capabilities together," Zelenskyy said.
The President emphasized that Ukraine already has a company that is approaching the mastery of ballistic missile production.
"In Ukraine, we have a company capable of producing ballistic missiles. Fire Point is moving toward this. And you have capable companies as well," the head of state noted.
He added that negotiations regarding such cooperation have already been held with the heads of the relevant enterprises.
"We have already held negotiations with these leaders," Zelenskyy emphasized.
The President called on the participants of the anti-ballistic coalition to make maximum efforts and deliver results as early as this year.
Recall
As reported by Fire Point CEO and CTO Iryna Terekh, the ballistic missile FP-7 produced by the Ukrainian company Fire Point is already undergoing certification, and the launch of the FP-9 ballistic missile is expected by the end of the year.
Ukraine has also initiated the creation of a pan-European anti-ballistic shield – Freyja. The basis of this air defense system is the Ukrainian ballistic interceptor missile FP-7.x, created by the Ukrainian manufacturer Fire Point. It is called an analog of the American Patriot PAC-3 system. However, the Ukrainian missiles are significantly cheaper – their price is expected to be around $700,000 per unit, compared to $3.8 million for a single American one.
During a recent test, the FP-7.x reached a flight altitude of 25 kilometers, which is comparable to the performance of the Patriot system.
On June 16, the German manufacturer of radar systems Hensoldt joined the project to create the Freyja pan-European anti-ballistic shield.
According to open sources, in addition to German long-range detection radars, Freyja will also include the Weibel GFTR-2100/48 or Leonardo KRONOS Land illumination and guidance radar. The command post will be based on the Norwegian Kongsberg Fire Distribution Center system. One of the key features of the system will be its open architecture and the use of Network Access Nodes modules, which will allow for the integration of additional solutions and components.
Data exchange between all elements of the complex will be carried out via the Link 16 tactical channel, standardized according to STANAG 5516. This specific protocol is intended to ensure the integration of Freyja into the existing air defense systems of Ukraine and other European countries.
