Electricity consumption in Ukraine has increased: what is the reason
Kyiv • UNN
Due to the cold snap and the start of the working week, electricity consumption increased by 2.5% compared to last Friday. The power grid remains in a power shortage after the Russian attacks.
Electricity consumption in Ukraine is showing an upward trend amid a cold snap and the start of the working week, NPC Ukrenergo reported on Monday, UNN reports.
Details
"Consumption is showing an upward trend. Today, December 23, as of 9:30 a.m., its level was 2.5% higher than at the same time on the previous business day - Friday, December 20. This is due to the traditional increase in consumption at the beginning of the working week, cloudy weather and a decrease in air temperature in most regions," Ukrenergo said.
Yesterday, December 22, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 2.3% lower than the previous day's maximum on Saturday, December 21.
"As the Ukrainian power system continues to recover from 12 massive Russian attacks since the beginning of this year, it still has a significant power shortage. Therefore, the need for economical electricity consumption remains," the company emphasized.
Ukrainians are urged not to turn on several powerful electrical appliances at the same time from 8:00 to 20:00
