Drunk driver causes fatal accident in Kyiv region, two children killed

On the outskirts of Skvyra, a 39-year-old driver with a blood alcohol content of 1.8 ppm crashed into a tree. As a result of the accident, children aged 12 and 16 were killed, and two more people are in the hospital.
In the Kyiv region, two children were killed in a road traffic accident, and two other people, including the driver, were hospitalized with injuries. According to preliminary police data, the driver of the car was in a state of alcoholic intoxication and lost control of the vehicle. This was reported by the Kyiv region police, according to UNN.

Preliminary, law enforcement officers established that the 39-year-old driver of a VAZ vehicle lost control and drove into a ditch, subsequently hitting a tree.
As a result of the accident, two children aged 12 and 16 died. The driver and another 19-year-old passenger are in the hospital with numerous physical injuries. According to the results of a medical examination, 1.8 ppm of alcohol was detected in the driver's blood. He has been detained in accordance with procedural order.
Based on this fact, investigators of the investigative department have opened criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Art. 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
