"Kyivpastrans has completed an investigation into an accident involving a tram on August 6. The accident was caused by the driver's careless actions, who left the tram on a slope with the brakes off, which led to uncontrolled movement.
According to the results of an official investigation, the cause of a large-scale accident involving a tram on Hlybochytska Street in Kyiv on August 6 was the driver's careless actions, Kyivpastrans reported UNN.
The driver was outside the vehicle. The de-energized tram ended up on a slope with the parking brakes off. This caused the car to move uncontrollably
It is noted that the driver was suspended from work for the duration of the necessary official and investigative actions.
The deputy director of transport operation and the head of the traffic safety department of Shevchenko TRAD were also reprimanded.
Kyivpastrans stated that according to the results of a technical inspection of the car, it was in good condition. "The cause of the accident was exclusively a human factor," the company added.
Unscheduled briefings on compliance with the rules for operating electric vehicles were held with drivers and persons responsible for rolling stock operation at all depots , except for the scheduled ones.
The final results on the causes and consequences of the accident will be established by law enforcement agencies.
