Russia launched a missile strike on the center of Sumy. 21 people died, 83 were injured, including 7 children. An investigation into a war crime has been launched.

As a result of a Russian missile strike on Sumy, dozens of people were killed and wounded. A pre-trial investigation has been launched - investigators are collecting evidence, documenting the brutal war crime of the Russian Federation against the civilian population.

Earlier, on his official page in the social network, the acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar, stated: "On this bright Palm Sunday, our community suffered a terrible tragedy. The enemy launched a missile attack on civilians. Unfortunately, more than 20 deaths have already been reported.."
The Office of the Prosecutor General announced the start of a pre-trial investigation into the fact of committing a war crime that caused the death of people (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, on April 13, 2025, at about 10:15, the Russian military launched two missile strikes on the center of the city of Sumy, the Prosecutor General's Office reported.
