According to the international air quality monitoring system, the AQI index in the Brovary district reached 170, corresponding to an unhealthy level of pollution.
At the same time, according to SaveEcoBot, as of 06:00, the average air quality index in Kyiv was 86. This corresponds to a moderate level of pollution, which may cause discomfort for people with diseases or increased sensitivity of the respiratory system.
Pollution sharply increased after a series of Russian strikes
A graph of air quality changes over the past three weeks shows a sharp increase in pollution levels from August 3 to 5. It was during these days that Kyiv and the Kyiv region suffered a series of massive Russian missile attacks, which caused large-scale fires at warehouse, production, and logistics facilities.
Experts recommend that residents, especially people with chronic respiratory diseases, children, and the elderly, if possible, limit prolonged outdoor exposure until the situation improves.
