A knife attack occurred in the center of Amsterdam, near Dam Square. There are wounded, one attacker has been detained, law enforcement and medics are working at the scene.

Several people were stabbed near Dam Square in central Amsterdam. Law enforcement and medics are on the scene. One of the attackers was likely apprehended.

The incident occurred on March 27 around 3 p.m. in the heart of the Dutch capital. Several passersby were injured in the armed attack. Emergency services immediately rushed to the scene on Sint-Nicolaasstraat.
Initially, two ambulances were sent there, and later 3 more cars were called.
With the help of a helicopter that landed directly on Dam Square, a trauma team was deployed.
Due to the incident, the area was cordoned off by law enforcement.

The Amsterdam police also reported that the attacker was detained. However, the police spokeswoman could not confirm this. The motives for the attack also remain unknown.
