In the Philippine city of Angeles in Pampanga province, a nine-story building under construction collapsed. At least 22 workers managed to escape, while dozens more may remain trapped under the rubble. This was reported by AP, according to UNN.

The collapse occurred early Sunday morning during a thunderstorm. More than 100 police officers and rescuers are on-site conducting a search and rescue operation.
According to Police Brigadier General Jess Mendez, there is currently no information regarding fatalities; however, some of the rescued workers sustained injuries. The exact number of people who may be trapped under the debris is not yet known.
About 30 workers may remain under the rubble
Jay Pelayo, head of the city's information office, stated that at least 30 people could be under the rubble. This estimate was provided following testimony from a foreman who managed to jump from the building as it collapsed.
The city of Angeles is located approximately 80 kilometers from Manila. It was previously home to one of the largest U.S. airbases outside the country, and the area is now a major commercial and entertainment hub in the northern Philippines.
