Since the beginning of the day, 99 combat engagements have taken place, 37 of them in the Pokrovsk sector. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a report as of 22.00 on 08/16/2024, UNN reports .

It is noted that since the beginning of the day, 99 combat engagements have taken place, the enemy has launched five missile strikes, using seven missiles, 56 air strikes - dropped 69 UAVs, used 687 kamikaze drones for attacks and carried out 3371 attacks on the positions of our troops and settlements using various types of weapons.

In the Kharkiv sector, the occupants carried out nine attacks near Lypky and Vovchansk over the last day. Ukrainian Defense Forces units successfully repelled seven assaults, and two more engagements are ongoing. According to preliminary information, since the beginning of the day, enemy losses amounted to 87 occupants killed and wounded, a tank, one armored personnel carrier, four vehicles and five units of special equipment were destroyed. In addition, six enemy artillery systems, an armored combat vehicle, three units of special equipment and four vehicles were severely damaged. Moreover, our troops destroyed 40 dugouts and other occupants' shelters.

In the Kupyansk sector, Ukrainian Armed Forces recorded 10 enemy attacks in the areas of Hlushkivka, Andriivka and Kruhliakivka, three of them are ongoing, the situation is under control. The enemy attacked six times in the Liman sector, unsuccessfully trying to advance in the areas of Makiivka, Torske and Nevske.

In the Northern sector , our defenders repelled seven enemy assaults in the areas of Verkhnekamianske, Pereyizne and Spirne during the day.

Three combat engagements took place in the Kramatorsk sector . Occupants were active in the area of Chasovyi Yar and Hryhorivka. All the enemy's attempts to push our soldiers back were in vain.

The enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to break into our defense 11 times in the Toretsk sector . During the day, the invaders attacked the positions of Ukrainian soldiers near the settlements of Diliyivka, Pivnichne, Toretsk, Zalizne, Nelipivka and New York. Our defenders repelled 10 attacks, and one attack is still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsky sector, since the beginning of the day, fierce fighting has been taking place in the areas of Panteleymonivka, Vodiane, Vozdvyzhenka, Ivanivka, Zhelanne, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Novozhelanne, Ptyche and Zelene Pole. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 28 enemy offensive and assault attacks. Nine more combat engagements are ongoing. Our troops are taking measures to hold the designated lines and positions. Today's enemy losses preliminarily amount to 138 killed and 212 wounded occupants, and Ukrainian troops destroyed two artillery systems, 6 UAVs, two motorcycles, two vehicles and two special vehicles. In addition, an infantry fighting vehicle, six vehicles, a BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher and six enemy artillery systems were severely damaged.

In the Kurakhove sector, there are currently 10 combat engagements in the Donetsk sector that were unsuccessful for the occupants. The invaders remain most active near Krasnohorivka and Kostiantynivka.

In the Vremivsk sector, one firefight took place in the direction of Kostyantynivka.

In the Orikhivsk sector , our troops repelled another enemy attack in the area of Mala Tokmachka.

In the Prydniprovsky sector, our troops successfully repelled three enemy attacks on our positions.

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian occupation army lost 1330 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. Defense forces destroyed 12 tanks and 59 artillery systems.
