The President of Ukraine announced that he was working with the United States to strengthen the air defense system before the winter. New defense packages from Canada, Britain, Lithuania, and Sweden were also announced.

In his evening address, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that work with the United States to strengthen the Ukrainian air defense system is ongoing, UNN reports.

"We are working with our partners from the United States on new defense packages that support our air defense system. And this is something that is extremely necessary before the winter - in the face of constant Russian attacks. We also need real progress in terms of range. There is a solution that allows American contractors to work in Ukraine to repair and maintain equipment. This will significantly speed up the processes," the President said.

He thanked Canada for working together to deliver additional Nassams air defense systems.

"There is a new British decision this week on sanctions against Russian actors working for the war - and this is also very important. Thank you! All Russian legal entities and individuals who support the activities of the Russian military-industrial complex must be cut off from the world - to reduce Russia's ability to avoid genuine diplomacy and to fuel the war further. Everyone in the world needs sanctions to reduce Putin's arrogance first and foremost. This is absolutely realistic," the Head of State added.

Zelenskyy also said that a new military package from Lithuania is being prepared.

"We are also working together to raise funds for the purchase of weapons and production in Ukraine. Sweden - there are new solutions in both civilian and military support, particularly for our maritime security," the President said.

Following Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election, talk of a possible reduction in military support from Ukraine's largest ally has intensified. The inauguration of the 47th US president is scheduled for January 20, 2025, and Joe Biden remains the head of state until then, with his administration stating that it will do everything possible to continue supporting Ukraine.

Against the backdrop of these events, The Telegraph  , citing Trump's entourage, published a possible peace plan for the future American president regarding Ukraine.

According to the newspaper, this plan is one of several being considered by Trump, who, before being elected to the US presidency, said he would start peace talks before taking office in January.

The president-elect's plan, reported by three members of Trump's staff, calls for the current front line to be frozen and for Ukraine to agree to postpone its ambitions to join NATO for 20 years.

In exchange, the United States will provide Ukraine with a large number of weapons to deter Russia from resuming the war.

The United States will not provide troops to patrol and protect the resulting buffer zone, nor will it fund this mission.
