The president explained that the request for the introduction of Allied troops will lead to the loss of half of the support of partners. The EU is currently only considering sending military instructors.

Ukraine will never ask its allies  to send their troops to Ukrainian territory to participate in the war against Russia, because half of the partners will immediately stop their support. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky during  a joint press conference with President of the European Council Antonio Costa, reports UNN.

"We will never ask to drop troops on our territory. Do we want to? Of course we will be happy. Because (Russia-ED.) is an ally  with North Korea, with Iran, with other allies, and we ourselves are at war. Yes, with the help of our partners, but we are on the ground ourselves," Zelensky said.

The president stressed that if he raises this issue, then immediately half of the allies will stop their support.

" if I raise the issue, I will say: Please, we need your troops on the ground, with or without NATO, if I raise this issue, this topic, then immediately half of our allies will stop their support. That's why I can't take any chances. But if you ask me if we want to -  yes. We cannot be against any great support and assistance to Ukraine from our partners," Zelensky explained.

The EU reportedthat there is still no consensus among the members of the European Union on sending instructors to Ukraine to train the Ukrainian military.

The Times, citing sources, reportedthat the British military leadership is now studying the possibility of sending its instructors to Ukraine , previously to the west of the country.

The council (EU) decided to extend the mandate of the EU Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine) for another two years, until 15 November 2026, with a budget allocation of almost 409 million euros for the period from 14 November 2024 to 15 November 2026.

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and security policy Kaya Kallas , commenting on the idea of sending foreign military personnel to Ukraine , saidthat nothing can be ruled out and a certain strategic ambiguity should be maintained on this issue.
