The president of Ukraine recognized the lack of military forces for the liberation of all occupied territories, including Crimea. He stressed the need for diplomatic solutions, provided that there is sufficient force to deter Russian aggression.
The Ukrainian army does not have enough forces to return all the occupied territories, in particular Crimea, so we need diplomatic solutions that are possible only if there is sufficient force to deter new aggression.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Kyodo News, reports UNN.
Answering a journalist's question about whether it is difficult to return by force some of the Russian-occupied parts of the country, including Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014, Zelensky replied::
Our army doesn't have the strength to do this. It's true. We must find diplomatic solutions
He noted that diplomatic actions are possible "only if we are strong enough" so that Russia cannot launch a new aggression against Ukraine.
Zelensky, who insists on the importance of NATO membership for Ukraine's security and prosperity, stressed that the war is in a "difficult period.
