Ukrainian officials are holding high-level talks with the new Donald Trump administration in an effort to narrow broad differences over reaching a settlement to Kyiv's war with Russia before the newly elected US president takes office. This was reported by the Wall Street Journal, according to UNN.

The article states that the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, is visiting Washington to establish relations with Trump's aides. Earlier on Wednesday, he met with the new White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles in Florida.
The newspaper's source says that Kyiv plans to declare its readiness for peace, “but it must be a sustainable peace, and a temporary peace is not in the interests of either the United States or Ukraine.
In turn, Trump's advisors, according to media reports, discussed peace plans that recognize Russia's seizure of about 20% of Ukrainian territory and that close the door to Kyiv's accession to NATO for now.
The day before, a meeting was held with the future special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and Vice President J.D. Vance. Kellogg spoke in favor of the Biden administration's support for continued arms supplies to Ukraine, calling it an effective tool for Trump's further negotiations.
