What the Prime Minister and ministers read - the Ministry of Culture published a list

The Ministry of Culture published the reading recommendations of government officials for World Book Day. The list includes historical works, war diaries, and non-fiction.

The government revealed what the prime minister, ministers, and other government officials are reading. The Ministry of Culture stated that in honor of World Book and Copyright Day, celebrated on April 23, they prepared a corresponding list, writes UNN.

"A day for authors, publishers, and book lovers. What are they reading in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine? We've collected reading recommendations from government officials for you. Take note," the Ministry of Culture stated and listed:
- Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko recommended the book "The Race Between Education and Technology." Authors: Claudia Goldin, Lawrence Katz.
"For Ukraine, which is fighting for its existence today and at the same time striving to build the economy of the future, this is an important conversation — about the role of human capital, modern knowledge, and equal access to opportunities for all people," she commented.
- First Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal on the book "Wartime Diaries. 1939–1945" by Astrid Lindgren: "This is an honest testimony of war that resonates with our present day";
- Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy of Ukraine – Minister of Culture of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna recommends the book "Carpathians. A Short History of Iryna Pustynnikova's Travels."
"After traveling through the Carpathians, there is always a desire to get to know these places deeper. This book adds context, reveals stories, and helps to see familiar routes differently," notes Tetiana Berezhna.
- Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka noted: "'Scattered Sown' is a book about a program for Ukrainian artists who remained in Ukraine or were forced to leave due to the war. In terms of meaning, this publication very accurately reflects the current reality";
- Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov recommends Yaroslav Hrytsak's historical work "Overcoming the Past. A Global History of Ukraine": "I highly recommend Yaroslav Hrytsak's book to better know the past and understand how to shape the future";
- Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Matvii Bidnyi offers the novel "The Garden of Gethsemane" by Ivan Bahrianyi: "For me, this is a book about the strength of spirit, which reads especially deeply today";
- Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi draws attention to modern non-fiction about the impact of technology on education — "The Anxious Generation": "Jonathan Haidt's work gave me a broader set of arguments in favor of rethinking approaches to education under the influence of humanity's technological development";
- Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko recommends a science fiction thriller by Ukrainian writer Max Kidruk from the "New Dark Ages" series: "'Colony' is a science fiction thriller that reads in one breath";
- Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Nataliia Kalmykova recommends a book about the experience of war: "Artur Dron's book 'Hemingway Knows Nothing' is not just fictional prose about war, but an honest testimony of a young defender who went through it";
- Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine Denys Uliutin suggests reading the book "Divided Dynasty" by Fabian Baumann: "An important and relevant work at a time when Ukrainian society is once again reviewing its history, the role of imperial heritage, and national values";
- Head of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection, Brigadier General Oleksandr Potii emphasizes Peter Senge's management classic "The Fifth Discipline. The Art & Practice of The Learning Organization."
