Water mortality in Ukraine increased by 60% in June: 144 people drowned

In June 2026, 144 people died in water bodies of Ukraine, including 35 children. This is 60% more than last year, when 90 people drowned.
Mortality on water in June in Ukraine increased by 60% this year compared to last year's figure - 144 people drowned, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported on July 1, writes UNN.

According to the State Emergency Service, "144 people, including 35 children, died on water bodies of Ukraine during June 2026".
For comparison, as indicated: last year during the same period, water claimed the lives of 90 people, including 10 children.
The State Emergency Service urged everyone - "do not neglect safety rules":
- rest only in specially equipped places;
- do not leave children unattended near water even for a minute;
- do not enter the water while under the influence of alcohol;
- do not overestimate your strength.
