The US is taking measures for security in the Strait of Hormuz. Hegseth expects Iran to stop shelling vessels and to exert influence on Hezbollah.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that the U.S. is already "taking steps" to quickly ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, UNN reports with reference to the Guardian.
"We are already doing things that I cannot talk about on this program to ensure safe passage as quickly as possible," Hegseth said on CBS's "Face the Nation." "So, we are fully aware of the situation, we know exactly what the trends are."
Hegseth said that "following the signing of this agreement, we expect Iran to cease firing" on commercial vessels.
"We are monitoring what is happening with Hezbollah firing rockets into northern Israel, and they need to stop doing that," he said, adding that "Iran must push them in every way to cease these actions."
