According to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, no flights will operate for several hours in the afternoon on July 3, and flights will be suspended after noon local time on July 4.
The America 250 organization, created by Congress to commemorate the country's anniversary, is holding a series of festive events. A separate program is also being implemented by the Freedom 250 organization, established by order of U.S. President Donald Trump.
"You will also witness spectacular military flyovers featuring high-precision fighters and stealth bombers piloted by our U.S. military pilots,"
The airport reported that from July 4 until the resumption of flights on July 5, some services will operate at reduced capacity. Events that may affect air travel will continue from late June through late August.
