Fedorov and Rutte coordinate priorities ahead of "Ramstein" - focus on Patriot missiles and drone funding

Ukraine's Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov coordinated with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte ahead of the next meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein format), as he reported on social media on Friday, UNN writes.

Strengthening coordination with NATO before the next "Ramstein" — focusing on air defense, ammunition, and Ukrainian drones. Held a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte

- Fedorov wrote.

Fedorov reported that he and the NATO Secretary General "synchronized priorities ahead of the next meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group." "Our task is to ensure that every decision by our partners corresponds as much as possible to the real needs of the front and strengthens the Defense Forces," he added.

"A separate focus is on air defense and anti-ballistic protection," Fedorov emphasized.

Ukraine, he pointed out, "continues to seize the initiative in all domains of war." "At the same time, ballistics remain the main challenge for protecting Ukrainian skies. Russia is unable to achieve its goals on the battlefield, so it continues to attack Ukrainian cities, critical infrastructure, and civilians," the Defense Minister noted.

Among the key priorities of cooperation following the talks with Rutte, Fedorov named:

  • partner contributions to the PURL program;
    • supply of PAC-3 missiles (interceptor missiles for Patriot) through the JUMPSTART mechanism to strengthen anti-ballistic capabilities;
      • extended-range shells within the framework of the Czech initiative;
        • financing the production of Ukrainian drones.

          Separately, according to him, they "discussed the development of win-win cooperation between Ukraine and NATO." "We are working on launching the UNITE - Brave NATO initiative, which will help scale joint defense projects and technological solutions," the Minister reported.

          He thanked Mark Rutte for "coordinating the efforts of allies to prepare the most effective meeting in the 'Ramstein' format."

          "We are working on solutions that strengthen Ukraine and bolster the security of the allies," Fedorov emphasized.
