The company stated that the mobile shelters are being manufactured in-house at Ukrzaliznytsia enterprises as part of the Resilience Plan.
They are primarily being installed near critical facilities that ensure train movement, as well as at stations where stationary shelters are unavailable.
Ukrzaliznytsia explained that such shelters allow employees to quickly take cover during air raids and provide protection from shrapnel during shelling.
The company cited an example from the Kharkiv region, where a modular shelter effectively saved a conductor's life.
Yesterday, such a shelter in the Kharkiv region saved the life of a conductor who evacuated to it in time after a danger warning. The railcar was completely destroyed by an enemy drone
They also emphasized that the initiative is part of systematic efforts to ensure continuous train movement even under conditions of constant attacks.
According to the company, approximately 983 attacks on Ukraine's railway infrastructure have already been recorded since the beginning of 2024.
