Ukrainians purchased up to half a million books within the "eBook" initiative – it has been revealed what 18-year-olds are taking off the bookstore shelves

Under the eKnyha (eBook) program, Ukrainians purchased nearly 500,000 books totaling 256 million hryvnias. The most frequent choices are works by Serhiy Zhadan and Colleen Hoover.

A study has identified what 18-year-olds, who have access to the "eBook" program, are currently taking off bookstore shelves, UNN writes, citing data from the "Diia" online public services portal.

"Ukrainians have purchased nearly 500,000 books under the 'eBook' program. Since the program's launch, 279,000+ participants have received 256+ million UAH from the state for book purchases," the report states.
Who is currently on the reading lists
Among the most frequently chosen authors are: H. D. Carlton, Colleen Hoover, Penelope Douglas, Tess Gerritsen, and Brianna Wiest. Among Ukrainian authors — Serhiy Zhadan, Lina Kostenko, Max Kidruk, Illarion Pavliuk, and Andriy Kokotyukha.
How to receive funds for books
As indicated, if you have already turned 18 and have a passport and identification code in "Diia": Log in to Diia - Services - State Assistance - eBook - open or select "Diia.Card" - receive the payment.
"Within three months, choose and buy from 100,000+ books: the list of participating bookstores is available at the link. If you don't make it in time, the payment will be returned to the Ukrainian Book Institute," the message says.
