In Belgium, the Ukrainian women's sabre fencing team, consisting of Olga Harlan, Alina Komashchuk, Yulia Bakastova, and Olena Kravatska, won a bronze medal at the World Cup in St. Nicklas.

The athletes started with the 1/8 finals, where they defeated Poland with a score of 45:38. Then, in the quarterfinals, they defeated the US team with a score of 45:43. However, in the semifinals, the women's team lost to the French team with a score of 39:45. However, in the match for third place, the Ukrainians defeated the Republic of Korea with a score of 45:38.
