The idea of an energy truce between Ukraine and Russia was discussed in Abu Dhabi. Kyiv will support a cessation of strikes if Moscow does not attack Ukrainian facilities.

The idea of an energy truce between Ukraine and Russia was first discussed during a meeting in Abu Dhabi last weekend. As a high-ranking Ukrainian official reported, if Moscow does not strike Ukraine, Kyiv will support it. This was reported by FT journalist Christopher Miller, according to UNN.
"US and Ukrainian officials first discussed the idea of an 'energy truce' during peace talks in Abu Dhabi last weekend," Miller wrote.
He noted that, according to sources, it was the American delegation's idea for Ukraine and Russia to agree to stop striking each other's energy facilities as a gesture of goodwill and a step towards de-escalation amid controversial peace talks.
According to him, Ukrainian officials reported that several previous attempts on their part to secure a temporary truce with Russia had failed. Instead, swarms of drones and missiles continued to attack critical infrastructure daily as Russia tries to force Ukraine into submission.
In addition, he added that a high-ranking official stated that Kyiv has not yet received confirmation that the energy truce, which Trump said he had agreed with Putin, has indeed been established.
"If Russia does not strike Ukraine, then Ukraine will support it. Ukraine will not strike back," the source added.
