President Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine is finalizing a new Maritime Strategy to consolidate its interests and capabilities at sea, ensuring that the country can protect its maritime interests and those of its allies after Russia's dominance in the Black Sea region was shattered by war.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the work on a new Ukrainian Maritime Strategy and assured that the document would soon be approved by the National Security and Defense Council, UNN reports.
We are working on a new strategy for our country at sea - the Ukrainian Maritime Strategy. Soon this strategy will be approved by the National Security and Defense Council - we are now finalizing its points," Zelensky said during a video address.
He emphasized that "the war has changed the balance of power in our entire Black Sea region, and the Russian fleet will never again dominate this area.
"We are consolidating our interests, taking into account Ukraine's new technological capabilities and our new relations with partners. Ukraine will always be a state that is able to protect its own interests at sea, transportation arteries and the interests of our allies and partners. I am grateful to all our people who ensure this. The Ukrainian Navy, all defense and security structures involved, and the defense industry - public and private companies that work for the sake of Ukrainian strength," Zelenskyy summarized.
