The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has completed the development of a new high-precision guided munition, Firefly, which has already passed tests and is ready for serial production. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, as conveyed by UNN.
The Ministry of Defense noted that Firefly is a new class of guided munitions designed for use with Ukrainian bomber drones.
The munition is capable of operating effectively at altitudes of up to 800 meters. After release, it independently calculates its flight trajectory and adjusts it toward the target, maintaining high accuracy even under the influence of electronic warfare countermeasures.
According to the ministry, Firefly is intended for striking fortifications, bunkers, and other protected enemy positions from a safe distance for the carrier.
The developers have already tested the new munition on the main Ukrainian bomber drones. Based on the test results, the system confirmed its effectiveness and readiness for serial production.
The Ministry of Defense reminded that the ability to scale up Firefly production is ensured by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated October 13, 2025, No. 1310. The document allows the defense ministry to transfer rights to use the technology to private enterprises of the defense-industrial complex.
The ministry called on manufacturers and participants of the Brave1 defense cluster to join the scaling up of Firefly production and integrate the ready technology into their own production processes.
