Ukraine and the United States agree on a plan for joint inspections of American weapons transferred to the Armed Forces

The United States and Ukraine have agreed to joint inspections of weapons supplied by the US side, with a detailed check of serial numbers, technical condition, and storage conditions. This ensures compliance with U.S. requirements for the use of the equipment.
Representatives of the Embassy of the United States of America and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine have agreed on a plan for joint physical inspections of weapons provided by American partners. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Details
The document describes in detail how the supervision of American equipment will take place. It was developed to fulfill the expanded monitoring of the end use of weapons.
According to the procedure, Ukrainian and American inspectors will check three main items:
- serial number;
- technical condition;
- conditions of proper storage (safety and security)
The parties also established a number of criteria by which experts will provide conclusions on the conditions of transfer, protection, storage and use of weapons.
The purpose of such monitoring is to ensure that the US government's requirements for all recipient states of such weapons are met
Appendix
The American side was represented at the meeting by the Defense Cooperation Section of the US Embassy and the US Department of Defense Inspector General. The Ukrainian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yuriy Dzhyhyr.
The team inspections will be conducted by specially trained American and Ukrainian specialists and will continue on a regular basis throughout 2024.
