UAE vessel attacked again in the Strait of Hormuz

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) said that another one of its vessels had been attacked in the Strait of Hormuz. Gulf News reports, citing UNN.

"On Friday evening, August 14, another vessel operated by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) was struck in the Strait of Hormuz — just one day after two vessels linked to ADNOC were attacked in the same strait," the publication writes.
These incidents, occurring one after another, highlight the growing risks faced by commercial shipping when passing through this strategic chokepoint.
ADNOC confirmed that the vessel was struck while transiting the strait on Friday. No injuries were reported, and the company said the situation had been brought under control.
The UAE condemned what it called attacks on vessels linked to ADNOC and warned that attacks on commercial shipping pose a threat to regional stability and global energy security.
The country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that attacks on commercial vessels and attempts to obstruct movement along international sea routes violate United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2817. It also emphasized the importance of freedom of navigation and maritime security.
