According to an employee of the establishment, the conflict began after one of the women heard Ukrainian being spoken and started shouting insults. Police initially detained one of those involved in the incident and established the identity of the second, later detaining her as well.

According to media reports, the incident occurred during the night of August 13 near the CastaCraftowe café in Poznań. Establishment employee Bohdan Uhrynchuk, who published a video of the incident, said that he was outside together with patrons who were speaking Ukrainian and Russian.
According to him, after hearing the conversation, one of the women began insulting those present and shouting that they should "go to Ukraine." After that, people began recording her on video and said they would call the police.
The café employee claims that the woman subsequently began hitting those present and damaging the establishment’s property.
