According to PresaSM, the Ukrainian authorities initially said that it was about three people who allegedly fled to Romanian territory, but it seems that in the end it was only about two people, both of whom were detained. Weapons were also found by Satmarani law enforcement officers, after one of the suspects was detained.

According to the newspaper, the alarm was raised by the Ukrainian side. Border guards in Tarnah-Mare were notified at 13:35 that a patrol of Ukrainian border guards had been attacked by several unknown persons, three of whom had illegally crossed the border into Romania in the Tarnah-Mare area.

According to PresaSM, the border patrol was disarmed by the attackers, who also took their ammunition.

As a result, an action was launched at the sectoral level to check the area of responsibility, with 6 patrols initially taking part in the action, totaling 12 border police officers. They were joined by police officers and gendarmes.

At 3:05 p.m., Satmar authorities apprehended one of the suspects. Later, around 8:15 p.m., a second man was caught.

"At 20:15 in the direction of the town of Tarn Mare, in the border area, a second Ukrainian citizen was detained, whom we were informed by the Ukrainian authorities that he had crossed the border illegally.

At 16:53, the Ukrainian side informed the leadership of the PF sector “Tarna Mare” that a suspect who had not crossed the border had been detained.
