The lawsuit was filed in March 2022. In it, Trump alleges that the defendants spread false statements about his alleged ties to Russia, including information from the so-called Steele dossier, thereby violating federal anti-racketeering laws.

Appeals court called the lawsuit "frivolous"

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit unanimously upheld the dismissal of the case, calling the lawsuit "frivolous." The panel consisted of three judges, two of whom were appointed by Republican presidents, including one by Trump himself.
