Trump believes that Zelensky and Putin are ready for a ceasefire agreement

President Donald Trump believes that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin are ready to conclude a ceasefire agreement.

This was stated to journalists on Fox News, reports UNN.  

Trump stated that there has already been significant progress in talks on the situation in Ukraine.

I think he (Zelensky - ed.) is ready for a deal

He added that he spoke with the President of Ukraine not so long ago and that the conversation went "well."

I think Putin is ready to make a deal

When asked about the visit of Putin's representative Kirill Dmitriev to the United States, Trump replied that he does not discuss specific people.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated today that Ukrainians have shown their readiness for a ceasefire and the creation of space for negotiations. Therefore, the US must know whether Russia is ready for peace, and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin must make this decision. 

Rubio also emphasized that if Russia has a tactic of waiting and dragging out, then the United States will not be interested in this, and President Donald Trump will not fall into the trap of endless negotiations.

According to Rubio, America has determined the time during which it wants to hear from Russia about its readiness for peace. Congress has already started working on a bill to strengthen sanctions.

 President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that America and Russia are talking about a complete ceasefire, because Ukraine has agreed to this, and added that it is possible in the coming weeks-months to put pressure on the Russian Federation regarding the ceasefire.
