The presidential race is tight, with no candidate having a clear lead. One day before the election, the outcome is highly uncertain and varies from poll to poll.
A poll released by Gallup this week found that nearly 50% of Americans have a favorable view of Harris. According to Gallup, Trump has no more than 44% favorable attitude. However, Trump's campaign officials claim that their messages on key issues, including the economy and immigration, have resonated with voters, which is recognized even by Republicans who do not support the former US president.
Republicans say they have succeeded in tying Harris to Biden, who remains “unpopular” with the American electorate, and this, in turn, serves as a red flag for political observers. In the seven key states that will determine the next president of the United States, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are neck and neck.
An Atlas Intel poll puts the former Republican president in first place, while ABC and Ipsos polls give the Democratic vice president a slight edge. In Arizona, according to polls published in recent days and summarized by RealClear, Donald Trump is expected to come out on top. In this state bordering Mexico, where the issue of illegal immigration is a priority, the Republican candidate has built up a solid lead (+2.9 points).
The Harris campaign also received good news on Saturday after a Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll in Iowa showed Harris with a three-point lead over Trump. A second Democratic strategist said that while Trump has been seen as the candidate with momentum over the past few weeks, Harris is proving to be a kind of turning point in the past few days.
For now, both campaigns say they have laid the groundwork for victory. Both believe they have the right rationale for why they should win.
